KleanDrive Receives £1M Investment from FirstGroup Energy

KleanDrive

KleanDrive, a Maldon, UK-based company which specializes in electric conversion of heavy vehicles, received a £1M investment from FirstGroup Energy Limited, the dedicated energy investment arm of leading  transport operator FirstGroup Plc.

The company intends to use the funds to further enhance its work in converting existing diesel and petrol vehicles into clean electric vehicles.

Led by CEO Joe Tighe, KleanDrive aims to transform transport by accelerating the transition to zero-emission vehicles. Its OEM-agnostic, modular electric drivetrains combine technology from top-tier suppliers like CATL, Graysons, and Voith with deep engineering expertise. This solution allows any heavy vehicle to be repowered to electric, reducing the total cost of ownership and cutting emissions, all while offering fleet operators a faster route to zero emissions. Its business encompasses multiple transport divisions, including KleanBus, offering a smart way to electrify fleets across transport sectors from commercial vehicles, heavy vehicles, boats and beyond. Repowering heavy diesel vehicles, such as buses, coaches, and trucks, into electric vehicles offers a sustainable solution than purchasing new EVs. It preserves existing vehicles, reduces the environmental impact of producing new ones, and speeds up the transition to zero-emission fleets.
