Scribenote Raises $8.2M in Seed Funding

Scribenote

Scribenote, a Waterloo, Ontario, Canada-based provider of a AI-powered medical scribe for veterinarians, raised $8M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with additional participation from Inovia Capital, the Velocity Fund, and angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its AI technology and expand its platform.

Co-founded by Dr. Katie Gallagher, Alina Pavel, and Emily Merry, Scribenote is an AI-powered medical scribe designed to help veterinarians streamline their documentation process, reducing stress and improving work-life balance.

The solution automatically generates accurate records by capturing conversations during appointments and other key workflows. Its design allows veterinarians to start a note on their phone and add to it later from any device logged into their account. Its desktop widget, playfully dubbed “Draggy-Droppy,” allows users to copy their completed Scribenote records into any Practice Information Management System (PIMS) in seconds.
