Sparrow BioAcoustics Closes $13M Seed Financing Round

Sparrow BioAcoustics, a St. John’s, Canada-based bioacoustic AI technology company, raised $13M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Killick Capital, Klister Credit and Pelorus Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its R&D sector.

Led by CEO Mark Attila Opauszky, Sparrow BioAcoustics is developing new solutions for cardiac and pulmonary disease detection. Its team of physicians, engineers and data scientists are working to improve the source of diagnostic information about cardiac and pulmonary conditions to help people at-risk and suffering from cardiac and respiratory disease to live longer, healthier lives enabled by earlier detection and quicker treatment.

Sparrow is an SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) that uses people’s smartphones to capture and decipher cardiac sounds.
